The ability to control the well has been enhanced by the decision to set the casing shoe
just above the potential overpressure zone, and increase mud weight to 1.5 SG prior to deepening the well and invest in a specially fabricated 10,000 psi well head and utilisation of a 10,000 psi blow out preventer.
Additionally, the casing shoe
will be leak tested to verify that the cement has been solidly set within the formation, revealed the company.
After running and cementing this casing string, installing and testing the necessary wellhead and blowout preventers, and testing the casing shoe
for pressure integrity, drilling will resume.
- Drill out of 9 5/8C casing shoe
and perform a FIT/ LOT (formation integrity leak off test)
Operations since the last well operations report on the 11th of August 2019 include running and cementing 9' casing to 808 meters, install the 9' well head ('WH') and blow out preventer ('BOP'), undertake pressure testing of WH and BOP, drill out of 9' casing shoe
and drill 8 1/2' hole to current depth.
Sainampueng-1 commenced drilling from the existing 13 3/8" casing shoe
used for Anchan-1.
The company drilled a 5,742 foot lateral out of the seven-inch casing shoe
which had previously been set at 11,600 feet (measured depth).
It consists of three main components: a symmetrical ring bit (reamer) with an internal bayonet coupling; a pilot bit with large internal air flushing holes and external flushing grooves; and a casing shoe
which is welded (or threaded) to the first casing tube.
The well is now being plugged back to the 13 3/8" casing shoe
