On March 11, 2003, the TEC provided comments to the IRS on the policy questions raised on the (final) amendments to Circular 230, released on July 26, 2002 (REG-122380-02).The comments, prepared by the Tax Practice Responsibilities Committee (chaired
by Dan Mendelson), focused on (1) the reorganization of the Office of the Director of Practice; (2) the definition of practice and who may practice; (3) enrolled agents and eligibility for enrollment; (4) sanctions and disciplinary proceedings; (5) contingent fees; and (6) confidentiality agreements.
Drawing from members of the Tax Division, the Strategic Planning Task Force (with Phase I chaired
by Steve Corrick) met and developed proposed revisions to the mission statement and identified strategic goals to be considered by the TEC at its January 2003 meeting.
She has chaired
the South Central Division competitions, was national high school competitions chair from 1989-1993 and was national competitions coordinator from 1991-1995.
She developed the piano pedagogy major at Bryan College, organized and co-advises the Chattanooga Area Student Chapter (2004 MTNA Collegiate Chapter of the Year), founded the Bryan College Community Music School, chaired
the Dayton Center for the National Guild of Piano Teachers and directs the annual Rhea County Community Music Festival.
