Champion

Champion, uninc. community in the town of Green Bay, Brown co., NE Wis., NE of the city of Green Bay. It is noted for the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help, the only U.S. site that is recognized by the Roman Catholic church as the location of an apparition of the Virgin Mary. She is believed to have appeared three times to a Belgian immigrant, Adele Brise, in 1859.

an athlete or team victorious in an official championship. The word is also applied by analogy to those who place first in a number of different sports events or in combined events, for example, in the Olympic Games and Spartakiads.
