Common tropical plant up to 2 ft tall (70cm) Opposite simple pale green leaves sometimes flushed with red. Tiny smooth seed capsules. Called "stone breaker", used for gallstones, kidney stones, urinary infections, hepatitis A, B, C, optimal liver, kidney and bladder function, antiviral, antibacterial, anti-fungal, anti-hypoglycemic, antispasmodic, muscle relaxant, stimulates production of bile, and helps clear blockages and obstructions throughout the body and organs. Helps eliminate mucus, uric acid crystals (as in gout). Used to treat malaria, typhoid fever, flu, colds, constipation, dysentery, or stomach ache, inflammation of the bowels (IBS), pimples, diabetes, ulcers, prostate disorders, asthma, tumors, bladder infections, as a diuretic, for painful joints, jaundice, indigestion, constipation, vaginitis, viruses of the reproductive tract, poor circulation, excessive phlegm, bronchitis, and coughs. Very good for relaxing the urinary tract system. Pain reliever, helps get rid of gas from stomach and intestines, plus worms and other parasites, stimulates menstrual flow. Can be used several times a year as part of a liver detox program. Contains alkaloids with strong antispasmodic activity, which relaxes muscles and helps expel stones because it relaxes the smooth muscles that hold the stones. Said to have powerful, long-lasting pain-blocking activity with three times the strength of morphine. Strong anti-inflammatory with natural steroidal compounds. It's a diuretic and reduces systolic blood pressure and blood glucose in diabetic patients. Considered the most effective natural, non-toxic remedy for the Hepatitis B virus. Also used for HIV. Can be taken as a tea, extract, powder or capsules. Suggested Use: 1-4 cups tea per day on empty stomach, or teaspoon of powder in water 3x day on empty stomach.
