In this model, compressor map data is interpolated or extrapolated to determine air flow and shaft power from turbo speed and compressor pressure ratio inputs for each time step [3].
The maximum or peak compressor pressure ratio thus defines the stability limit.
The simulation tool was able to predict on an hourly basis the variation of parameters like the compressor pressure ratio [beta], the GT inlet flow and the normalized GT free spool rotational speed influencing the hybrid GT behavior (Figure 2--continuous lines refer to the pure fossil reference GT model).
For each case, the [C.sub.ratio] values for the compressor and expander and the compressor pressure ratio were optimized.
The pressure ratio scales almost linearly with speed so that the higher speed translates into a compressor pressure ratio that is 20 percent higher than the original turbocharger.
Figure 8, 9, 10, 11 show the compressor pressure ratio as a function of reduced mass flow for TC0, TC1, TC2 and TC3 respectively.
Key parameters such as the compressor pressure ratio and aerodynamic efficiency, temperatures of hot gas path parts, combustion dynamics behavior, as well as engine output, vibration and emissions have been validated and demonstrated.
Combining the optimum pressure corresponding to the gas cooler temperature and the evaporator pressure, the compressor pressure ratio can be calculated (Figure 6).
