In order to obtain the force output from damper [F.sub.di], the damper control signal is filtered by using a first order transfer function that models the delay behavior of the voltage controller and the
damper valve. The vehicle model is used to calculate the body acceleration and velocity, and the damper velocity which are then fed back to the control system.
The system adaptively controls
damper valve settings based on inputs from wheel displacement sensors and accelerometers, as well as from the chassis CAN bus.
These include a modified rear damper set-up, front and rear
damper valve tuning and a new rear spring design.

It improves steering on slippery surfaces while a
