de Creeft, José

(1884–1982) sculptor; born in Guadalajara, Spain. He worked in Barcelona (1898), studied in Madrid (1900) and Paris (1906–07 and 1911–14), then emigrated to New York City (1929). He is known for carving directly into stone and for sculptures, as Alice in Wonderland (1960).
