DIP switch

(Dual In-line Package switch) A set of tiny toggle switches built into a dual in-line package (DIP), which is mounted directly on a circuit board. The tip of a pen or pencil is used to flip the switch on or off (close or open the circuit). See DIP, switch and jumper.

Switches on a DIP
Mostly replaced by programmable chips and a software control panel, DIP switches provide an inexpensive way to select hardware options. However, they require opening the case and figuring out which switch to flip.

Three SPDTs are connected together, and their control inputs are connected to the DIP switch. The signals from the DIP switch control the states of the SPDTs, causing one of the capacitors to be selected.
The user can simply move up the DIP switch to have the fault relay alarm functioned.
DIP switch configurable, the conditioner's 456 signal combinations maintain precise, constant values--even after reconfiguration--via factory-calibrated, laser-capable resistors.
They also provide auto MDI/MDI-X, Auto-Negotiation, and Link Fault Pass-Through (LFP) function and one 5 pin DIP switch to configure the functions, such as the TX_Duplex mode, FX_Duplex mode, Speed mode, and LFP.
Additional features of these Gil AS-Interface modules include automatic scaling to 4000-20000 for 4-20 mA, 0-10000 for 0-10 V, and -2000 to 8500 for - 200 [degrees] C -+850 [degrees] C; user-selectable 0-20 mA or 4-20 mA input option; inputs powered by AS-interface or auxiliary, dip switch (user-selectable); and a unique G11 O-ring sealing technique that makes these modules impervious to water, dirt and oils.
* Availability with an industry standard M12 connector for adjustability using a simple DIP switch or via the new ScaDiag SCATEC Diagnostic Software.
This tiny embedded PC offers two HDMI ports, a lockable 12 VDC power input with power protection feature and a user-friendly AT/ATX DIP switch for adjustments between automatic and manual operation control.
The 852-101, -102 and -103 switches are equipped with a DIP switch for enabling alarm functions, non-blocking, store-and-forward switching, auto-negotiation on all 10/100BaseTX ports and auto-MDI/MDIX (crossover) on all 10/100BaseTX ports.
* Support of PROFINET RT, which is addressed via a DIP switch, meaning the coupler doesn't require a memory card for storing the address name of additional configuration software.
