dot(1) (Echo DOT) An Alexa device. See Amazon Echo.
(2) (DOT) The native cryptocurrency token in the Polkadot blockchain. See Polkadot.
(3) A tiny round, rectangular or square element that is combined with other dots to form letters and graphics on a screen or printer. See dot matrix and pixel.
(4) A verbal expression of a period; for example, V dot 22 is V.22.
(5) The dot, or period, is used as a name separator. For example, file names are separated from their extensions with a dot (CDE.ABC, CDE.NDX, etc.). The dot is also used to separate the components of Web addresses; for example, www.computerlanguage.com. See TLD.
