Energy audit

A special inspection performed to determine where there are energy inefficiencies in a home or existing building, including orientation and exposure, building materials and components, and existing mechanical systems; usually performed as a means to determine ways to reduce energy costs. A qualified tester uses methods and measurements that comply with industry standards and involves collection of detailed data and an engineering analysis. A written report includes recommendations and a detailed cost and savings analysis.
