This time Paul showed me flat after fiat of good specimens, mostly thumbnail and miniature size, of olmiite from the N'Chwaning mine; goshenite beryl in sharp, lustrous, doubly terminated prisms to 2 cm with black schorl crystals, from the Erongo Mountains, Namibia; attractive pale apple-green tarbuttite in intergrown crystal sheaves partly coated by chalky white skorpionite, from the Skorpion mine, Namibia; pale brown fans of very thin, bladed crystals of eudidymite
to 3 cm, from Mt.
Finally, Jordi Fabre had a handful of eudidymite
and epididymite specimens which, he said, were found intermittently this year and last at Mt.
Associated minerals are: aegirine, albite, analcime, ancylite-(Ce), calcite, catapleiite, dawsonite, donnayite-(Y), elpidite, epididymite, eudialyte, eudidymite
, fluorite, franconite, gaidonnayite, galena, genthelvite, gmelinite, gonnardite, horvathie-(Y), kupletskite, leifite, microcline, molybdenite, narsarsukite, natrolite, nenadkevichite, petersenite-(Ce), polylithionite, pyrochlore, quartz, rhodochrosite, rutile, sabinaite, serandite, siderite, sphalerite, thomasclarkite-(Y), zircon and an unidentified Na-REE-carbonate (UK91).
5-cm floater groups of translucent white eudidymite
with epitaxial epididymite, sparkly pseudomorphs of granular, dark reddish brown rhodochrosite after eudehral, 1-cm eudialyite crystals, and small thumbnails of triangular, regularly offset crystals of genthelvite--little chalky brownish gray starbursts with black aegirine needles.
