flash array(1) A group of flash memory-based solid state drives (SSDs) that are set up in a RAID configuration for increased speed. See RAID, flash appliance and flash memory.
(2) (FlashArray) A flash storage subsystem for large enterprises from Pure Storage, Inc., Mountain View, CA (www.purestorage.com). Using built-in software that provides a combination of compression, deduplication and other techniques, the FlashArray achieves high performance using low-cost multilevel cell (MLC) flash chips. Highly scalable, up to 100 terabytes of flash storage can be connected via Fibre Channel or 10 Gigabit Ethernet. See deduplication and flash appliance.
