The gamma ray mass attenuation coefficient, half-value layer, mean free path, effective atomic number, and effective electron densities have been calculated using the WinXCom program in the energy range 1keV-100GeV of GAGCO and CMO scintillator materials.
In the present investigation, the mass attenuation coefficients, [mu]/[rho], half-value layer, HVL, tenth-value layer, TVL, effective atomic numbers, [Z.sub.PIeff], and effective electron densities, [N.sub.e, eff], of borate glasses containing PbO and NiO were calculated.
Beam quality in terms of half-value layers in mm of aluminium were measured using a standard procedure.
