A common theme within the aforementioned studies is an acknowledged potential for societal benefit through the forecasting and communication of probabilistic hazardous weather information. Deliberate and rigorous scientific research and development are under way with ongoing FACETs work to determine with reasonable certainty whether the cited recommendations will be of value to the nation.
