[7] As an obstructing vaginal malformation, this condition precludes the outflow of menstruation, resulting in hematocolpos, hematometra, and hematosalpinx. The diagnosis is therefore usually made soon after menarche due to symptoms related to the obstructed hemivagina, such as pelvic pain, dysmenorrhoea and a palpable pelvic mass.
