high-pass filter

[′hī ‚pas ′fil·tər]
(electronics)
A filter that transmits all frequencies above a given cutoff frequency and substantially attenuates all others.

high-pass filter

A filter that blocks low frequencies and allows higher frequencies to pass through. Such filters are used in devices such as POTS splitters that direct phone and DSL signals to different lines. Contrast with low-pass filter.

A straightforward way to implement local motion detectors is to apply a complex-valued Gabor receptive field (5) to the video signal u, and then take the derivative of the phase with respect to time or apply a high-pass filter on the phase to approximate the derivative.
The framework of PR-based fault diagnosis approaches for biquad high-pass filter analog circuit can be described in Figure 1, consisting of 2 phases: training of classification algorithm and fault diagnosis.

Accordingly, an L-shape high-pass filter is incorporated to generate one lower-frequency resonant mode to cover the GSM850/900 bands, while contributes another upper-frequency resonant mode at about 2500 MHz.
The analysis was performed separately for every used high-pass filter frequency (30 values ranging from f = 0.05 to 6 Hz).
Figure 6 compares the frequency response of high-pass BICO filter and regular high-pass filter (s/(s + [[omega].sub.c])) with the same cutoff frequency of [[omega].sub.c] = 10 rad/s.

This article will discuss the method of using a high-pass filter (HPF) and freefall and logic scheme to detect wakeup motion and motionless conditions at one interrupt output pin.
The result of the low-pass filter is usually known as the approximation and isused as input to the following decomposition level, while the result of the high-pass filter is called the detail.
In wavelet transform, g(n) and h(n) are approximately equal to a high-pass filter and a low-pass filter.
Electromagnetic wave propagation only occurs through the array below [[lambda].sub.p], due to which the structure acts as a nanophotonic high-pass filter. From Equation (5), an array of metallic wires, having a lattice constant of 400 nm and radius of 50 nm, displays a plasma wavelength of [[lambda].sub.p] = 1.44 [micro]m.
