homologation

(organic chemistry)
A type of hydroformylation in which carbon monoxide reacts with certain saturated alcohols to yield either aldehydes or alcohols (or a mixture of both) containing one more carbon atom than the parent.

homologation

Certification, confirmation or approval. Data communications equipment is often subject to the homologation requirements of various countries.
