A study on an Indian population showed that both males (20/50) and females (28/50) had a hyperleptoprosopic face type according to the Martin and Saller face type classification (Mane et al.).
In the Garson classification of facial index there are five types: hypereuryprosopic ([less than or equal to]78.9), euryprosopic (79.0 to 83.9), mesoprosopic (84.0 to 87.9), leptoprosopic (88.0 to 92.9), and hyperleptoprosopic ([greater than or equal to]93.0) (Inaba et al.).

The least common facial shape was hyperleptoprosopic (very long face) and it was 5% for both sexes.
(2013) had made a study in South Indian population and found that the dominant face type was hyperleptoprosopic, which was the least common type in Malays (5%) [7].
The second common type of face for males is leptoprosopic (20%) but for females it is europrosopic (24%) and the least common face type for Malays is hyperleptoprosopic (5%).

No hyperleptoprosopic female was found (Figure 2(a)).
However, though Evenks [24], Mongol [23], and Manchu [25] tribes belong to Mongoloid race, they show hyperleptoprosopic or very narrow face to leptoprosopic face.
