iTunes Match

A music locker service from Apple that lets iTunes users stream or download their music from iCloud to their devices. Introduced in 2011, users do not have to upload their music. Apple gives credit for all the music files it finds in the user's iTunes library no matter how they were obtained. Only titles that Apple does not own have to be uploaded. In addition, the music may be downloaded in a higher resolution than the one the user actually owns.

iTunes Match and Apple Music
Introduced in 2015, Apple Music includes a similar service. Any songs that are not in the Apple Music catalog are downloadable but cannot be streamed to the user's device. See Apple Music, iTunes Radio, music streaming service and iTunes.
