image protection

Safeguarding copyrighted images in an electronic format, especially when used on a website. The Web makes it easy to copy an image. All one has to do is right click the image and select Save Picture As or Save Image As and give it a file name. However, images on websites do not have to be high-resolution for screen display. As a result, using low-resolution images on the Web provides a form of copy protection for printing, because a low-res image will not produce a high-quality print.
