(sĭl'əsī`bən), perception-altering substance found in some species of mushroom. See hallucinogenic drughallucinogenic drug, any of a group of substances that alter consciousness; also called psychotomimetic (i.e., mimicking psychosis), mind-expanding, or psychedelic drug.
