instant field of view
instant field of view (IFOV)
In any line-scan imagery, the area covered on the ground by the aircraft optical system from which radiation emissions are being collected. The instant field of view is an important factor in determining resolution of the system and is dependent on the height of the aircraft. The higher the height, lower is the resolution.
