Interceptor
a device for the local stalling of an airflow against an airframe.
An interceptor is usually a sliding, rotating, or fixed metal plate mounted on an airplane wing at right angles to the flow to improve longitudinal and transverse stability during flight and to reduce the landing run.

interceptor
A device to trap, remove, or separate deleterious, hazardous, or undesirable matter (such as oil, grease, gasoline, sand, and sediment) from normal waste conveyed through it, permitting normal sewage or liquid wastes to discharge into the disposal terminal by gravity.
