Guwahati (Assam), Feb.15 ( ANI ): Guwahati recently hosted a National Jute Fair organised by the National Jute Board
with an aim to promote jute products.
They include many varieties of cotton-jute mixed fabrics, upholstery, linen, pulp for the paper industry, and pressed jute board
for car door panels.

(NJB) in association with Jute Corporation of India Ltd (JCI) and Central Research Institute for Jute and Allied Fibres (CRIJAF), Ministry of Agriculture is implementing an scheme for welfare of Jute farmers namely Jute ICARE (Improved Cultivation and Advanced Retting Exercise) for the last four years in a phased manner covering 69 blocks under jute growing states till 2018-19.
The fair is organised as part of the National Jute Board
's (NJB) promotional activity and to create awareness among the general public regarding eco-friendly alternative products for use in home and offices.
Keeping in mind the need to modernise the jute mills by increasing their productivity and to replace the old machines by new and technologically advanced machines, National Jute Board

Further, Jute I-CARE (Improved Cultivation and Advance Retting Exercise) scheme is being implemented by National Jute Board
(NJB) with an objective to introduce scientific technique of cultivation and retting exercises by distributing certified seeds, nail weeders, seed drillers for improving fibre quality and productivity and thereby reducing cost of production.
