Exaggerated placental site reaction has a low level of Ki-67 labeling index
The presence of pseudopapillae, degenerative changes and a low Ki67 labeling index
confirm that PGNTs are slow-growing, low-grade neoplasms.

Since then, several other staging systems have been proposed using other known prognostic factors, including C-reactive protein albumin and plasma cell labeling index
[5-8], but the one that gained wide acceptance was the international staging system (ISS) that was published in 2005 .
The Ki-67 labeling index
was 3.7% and almost negative or weak immunoreactivity for p53 was found (Figures 5 and 6).
On performing Immunohistochemistry, the lesion that is categorized as suspicious for STIC may show either of two patterns:(1)more than 75% cells in the lesion show diffuse strong positivity for p53 and(2)total absence of staining (0% labeling index
), which is due to mutated abnormal protein that cannot be detected by p53 antibodies.
In order to achieve these purposes, cell kinetic parameters such as propagation assay, mitotic and labeling index
analysis were determined.
Iron-hematoxylin prestained semithin sections were processed for autoradiography and analyzed to locate labeled nuclei inside the corneal epithelium as well as to estimate the labeling index
(number of labeled nuclei per 100 cells).
They have used BrdU (5-Bromo-2'deoxyuridine) labeling index
in the different tissue compartments of the uterus, and also examined the immunohistochemical expression of nuclear estrogen receptor alpha (nERalpha), and nuclear progesterone receptor (nPR).
IHC: IHC of the tumor showed strong positivity for calretinin and inhibin suggesting adrenocortical origin and strong positivity for cytokeratin, weak positivity of vimentin and low Ki 67 labeling index
suggests an adenoma (Figure 3).
