On Ultrasound the mass has generally been mentioned as hypoechoeic and cystic.4 Our patient however presented with an elongated mass with a
lamellated appearance of hyper and hypoechoeic tissues alternating with each other.
Grossly, in these instances, a
lamellated superficial appearance was anecdotally observed on MR imaging, though without the typical hyperdensity of most medulloblastomas on CT secondary to dense hypercellularity.
Microscopic examination showed histological features of hydatid cyst comprising of acellular,
lamellated fibrous and chitinous wall with daughter cysts having invaginated morphology along with scolex and germinal lining (Figures 4, 5).
Electron microscopy shows enlarged secondary lysosomes packed with
lamellated membrane structure called myeloid or Zebra bodies.
The distal tubules contain distinctive, atypical casts that typically appear hypereosinophilic, pale with periodic acid-Schiff stain, and polychromatic (mixed red and blue) and
lamellated with Masson trichrome stain.
An epidermal inclusion cyst is the most common cutaneous or subcutaneous cyst, and it is lined by stratified squamous epithelium that contains a granular layer and
lamellated keratin.
Histopathological examination demonstrated a germinal layer,
lamellated ecto cyst with fibrous outer layer (Fig.
Some
lamellated phagolysosomes or autolysosomes were also seen with variably electron-dense material.
A variable amount of periosteal reaction can be present, ranging from a thick solid type to
lamellated. [8]
Such glomeruli usually have wrinkled, frequently
lamellated, Bowman capsule basement membrane (Figure 1, B).
Testicular microlithiasis is an abnormality of uncertain etiology that is characterized pathologically by the accumulation of smooth round
lamellated bodies within the seminiferous tubules.
The cavity showed presence of
lamellated type of keratinous material.
