in space technology, a structure designed to house the launch system of a launch vehicle; it supplies the launch system with pneumatic, electrical, and fuel-service lines. It is a constituent part of a launching pad.

i. A structural device designed and fitted, either on or under the wing or on the fuselage, to support and hold a missile or rocket in position for firing.
ii. A container of tubes for firing unguided rockets, carried as an external store or as a retractable box.
i. To aim ahead to provide for the crossing velocity of a target and the time of flight of a weapon.
ii. To spread an aerial smokescreen (e.g., to lay smoke).
