Larsen and Shannon (1930) described two minerals from the Clay Canyon variscite nodules which they described as pseudowavellite and the new species "lehiite" (they named the latter after the nearby town of Lehi), but both were later discredited as crandallite (Palache et al., 1951; Dunn and Francis, 1986).
