The gold standard for treatment of lymphomas is chemotherapy.
Biopsy of the breast mass demonstrated classic Hodgkin's lymphoma. A PET/CT demonstrated involvement in multiple thoracic lymph node chains, as well as the thyroid gland and left brachial plexus.
Hodgkin's lymphoma was the first lymphoma to be cured with multi-agent chemotherapy; currently it is highly curable in greater than 90% of early-stage patients and up to 75% of late-stage patients.
Before starting chemotherapy, we planned to have positron emission tomography- (PET-) CT images to confirm the precise stage of lymphoma. Seventeen days after laparotomy during the time waiting for PET-CT, the duodenal mass had enlarged, resulting in obstructive jaundice and perforation of an ulcer in the second to third segment of the duodenum (Figure 1(b)), when the patient complained of severe abdominal pain, resulted in a state of shock with hypotension (76/42 mm Hg) and physical signs suggesting peritonitis.

The reported case is particular because, while clinical signs were jaundice and abdominal pain, there was no palpable abdominal mass and no ascites which are frequent signs at diagnosis of Burkitt lymphomas. Moreover, LDH and uric acid levels were in normal range.
Non-Hodgkin's lymphomas (NHLs) are a group of diverse malignancies that usually involves lymph nodes.
Background: Retroperitoneal fibrosis (RPF) and lymphoma presenting as retroperitoneal mass may closely resemble each other and misdiagnosis may occur.
