Meander

A running ornament consisting of a fret design with many involved turnings and an intricate variety of designs.

Meander

 

a common geometric design consisting of a line winding in and out at right angles. The meander was widely used in ancient Greek art. Its name derives from the winding Maeander River (now the Büyükmenderes) in Asia Minor.

As the CRLH-TL unit cell, meandered monopole and CPW feeding mechanism are implemented on the same plane, fabrication of the proposed antenna is very easy to use a single-layer metallization process.
The y-directed currents along the horizontal sections of the meandered-line strip and the meandered monopole have a contribution to the cross-polarization in the E-plane, which make the co- and cross-polarization components have comparable magnitude, especially at 1.27 GHz, 2.6 GHz and 3.55 GHz.
