Also known as the Moonfish, Hawaiian moonfish or Jerusalem Haddock (Lampris guttatus), opah have large disc shaped bodies with blue and a deep red-orange upper body fading to a rosy colour on the belly, with white spots covering the sides and bright redish-orange fins.
The large circular fish is called an opah, or sometimes a moonfish, and researchers have determined that it can keep its internal temperature 5 degrees Celsius warmer than its environment.
