The global
Muriate of Potash (MOP) industry is segmented on the basis of technology, products, services, and applications.
Fertilizer requirement of all the crops was met through urea, super phosphate and
muriate of potash.
To supply 30kg/ha of K,
Muriate of Potash (MOP) can be used which is 60% K, therefore 50kg/ha MOP would be needed.
Water soluble fertilizers like urea as a source of nitrogen and
muriate of potash as potassium were injected through drip irrigation system at weekly intervals as per crop nutrient requirement in almond.
SOP is a non-chloride based potash fertilizer that sells at a substantial premium over the price of regular potash known as
Muriate of Potash ('MOP').
Nitrogen was applied as urea at the rate of 140 kg N ha-1 in three split doses at 15, 40 and 60 days after planting while P and K were applied after 15 days of planting at the rate of 70 kg (P2O5 or K2O) ha-1 in the form of triple super phosphate and
muriate of potash, respectively.

muriate of potash, which were ` 4,440 per tonne in 2010, rose to ` 11,300 per tonne in 2011.

- Sulfate of potash and schoenite are used globally as high-end fertiliser products as they have a lower salt index than
muriate of potash.
Examples of incomplete fertilizers are: 34-0-0 (ammonium nitrate), 46-0-0 (urea), 18-46-0 (diammonium phosphate), 0-46-0 (triple super phosphate) and 0-0-60 (
muriate of potash).
Potash requirements at soil index 0, 1 and 2 are all 80kg/ha (64units/acre), which can be supplied by around 4t/acre of FYM, 3200gallons/acre of thin slurry or 1cwt/acre of
muriate of potash.
