nested virtualization

The capability of running a virtual machine hypervisor within a hypervisor. Nesting a VM inside another VM is used for testing and other experimental purposes. KVM, Hyper-V and VMware ESXi are examples of VMs that support nested virtualization. See Windows Server 2016 and virtual machine.
