outer bremsstrahlung

Bremsstrahlung involving the acceleration of a charged particle coming from outside the atom whose nucleus produces the acceleration, and in which the energy loss by radiation is much greater than that by ionization, usually seen in electrons with energies greater than about 50 MeV (million electronvolts).
