paraselene

[¦par·ə·sə′lēn]
(astronomy)
A weakly colored lunar halo identical in form and optical origin to the solar parhelion; paraselenae are observed less frequently than are parhelia, because of the moon's comparatively weak luminosity. Also known as mock moon.
