Particleboard

1. A panel product used in cabinets and furniture, generally made from wood fiber glued together with a binder. Similar to medium-density fiberboard, yet with a coarser texture. Most particleboard is made with formaldehyde-emitting urea-formaldehyde binder, although some wood particle-board and all straw particleboard use a nonformaldehyde methyl diisocyanate or low-emitting phenol-formaldehyde binder.
2. A large class of building boards made from wood particles compressed in a binder; often faced with a veneer. See also: Masonite
