plenum

[′plen·əm]
(engineering)
A condition in which air pressure within an enclosed space is greater than that in the outside atmosphere.

Plenum

The air space in an integrated ceiling, which may be above the atmospheric pressure if used for the air supply, or below the atmospheric pressure if used for the air exhaust.

Plenum

a meeting of the entire membership of the elected ruling organ of an organization, such as a party, state, or labor organization.

plenum

1. In suspended ceiling construction, the space between the suspended ceiling and the main structure above.

Notably, however, the plenum in the Polimotor 2 concept will encounter comparably lower temperatures between 150F (66C) and 200F (93C), due to the low thermal conductivity of the engines largely plastic composition.
Ironically, one of the key issues that the party discussed at the plenum was the necessity to put an end to factionalism within its rank and file.
Second, the Third Plenum established a new high-level organization -- the so-called Central Leading Group on Reforms.
One reason to anticipate that the plenum will not generate market reform is the high ratio of public relations efforts to liberalization so far this year.
Based on 900 [micro]m tight buffered designs, FiberStore's Indoor/Outdoor Plenum cable eliminates the need for costly and time-consuming installation of fanout kits or pigtail splices since the connectors terminate directly to the fiber.
With all that we know today about the toxic nature of Teflon, FEP and PFOA, it astounds me that the policy and code makers in North America have ignored the toxicity of plenum cable flame retardants," he adds.
Although all of the electrical power input to the lighting system is eventually converted to heat, the transport of lighting energy is very complex, particularly for a recessed luminaire, involving all three heat transfer mechanisms--radiation, convection, and conduction--to two spaces, the conditioned space and the ceiling plenum.
Majumdar (1980) developed a finite-difference model based on a one-dimensional momentum equation and flux continuity for flow along the axis of the plenum, and a Bernoulli type energy balance for velocity components and static pressure in the lateral direction.
Their negative pressure plenum design prevents contamination and provides operator, sample, and environmental protection.
A new proprietary flame-retardant polyolefin compound reportedly has a combination of processability, good electrical properties, moisture resistance, and toughness/flexibility that allow it to replace FEP fluoropolymer in star/cross separators for Plenum Category 6 communication cables.
Eyeball the bead on the front face of each V-pack element for dents or sharp edges that could cut the plenum box seal.
