The agency has made a series of recommendations: outlawed are shellfish as they collect but do not break down the polycyclic hydrocarbons and therefore represent a particularly sensitive target for pollutants that escaped from the tanker.
AHH has been identified in liver and in many extrahepatic tissues, including the lungs [4], placenta [5] and skin [6-8], and is responsible for the initial oxidative step in the metabolism of a variety of polycyclic hydrocarbons. These compounds are potent carcinogens.
AHH plays a crucial role in the biotransformation of polycyclic hydrocarbons, the phenolic product of the oxidase reaction being further metabolized by the cytochrome P450-dependent mixed-function oxidase system to highly reactive electrophiles.
Contract award: diagnostic market polycyclic hydrocarbons (hap) in pavements and roads and asbestos in civil engineering buildings and structures in the t9 tramway project linking paris porte de choisy in orly ville.
The professor is engaged in the production of high molecular weight, planar, partially poorly soluble and sublimable and ionic polycyclic hydrocarbons. For intensive and routine high-throughput characterization and for reaction monitoring a matrix-assisted laser desorption mass spectrometer with flight time and analysis is required.
Tests on samples at the council-owned Leckwith allotments in Cardiff uncovered levels of heavy metals and polycyclic hydrocarbons - which can be cancer-causing - significantly above guidelines laid down by both the Food Standards Agency and the Government.

For intensive and routine high-throughput characterization and the reaction control a matrix-assisted laser desorption mass spectrometer with flight time and analysis is required.
The JRC-IRMM Reference Laboratory for polycyclic hydrocarbons (PAH) is developing and endorsing the harmonisation and standardisation of PAH measurements in the EU.
Short description (5 lines) of planned objectives: The overall objective of the project is to improve air quality by supporting the implementation of the air quality related legislation including Directive 2008/50/EC on ambient air quality and cleaner air for Europe and Directive 2004/107/EC relating to arsenic, cadmium, mercury, nickel and polycyclic hydrocarbons in ambient air.
