lower part of the brain, adjoining and structurally continuous with the spinal cord. The upper segment of the human brain stem, the pons, contains nerve fibers that connect the two halves of the cerebellum.

A process or bridge of tissue connecting two parts of an organ.
A convex white eminence located at the base of the brain; consists of fibers receiving impulses from the cerebral cortex and sending fibers to the contralateral side of the cerebellum.
