preheating

[prē′hēd·iŋ]
(astronomy)
A scenario suggested by detailed calculations of the inflationary universe cosmology in which the order parameter, as it relaxes about a new potential minimum following inflation, exhibits vibrations that can release energy in certain nonthermal modes.

preheating

The partial heating of water in a domestic water system by circulating it through a first-stage heat exchanger before circulating it through the final heater.

The principal difference between single-axis and dual-axis actuation of IR preheating is seen in the key variable of "changeover time." Changeover time is defined as the time between the end of the IR preheat and the beginning of vibration welding.
