pressure interface

pressure interface

[′presh·ər ′in·tər‚fās]
(petroleum engineering)
The interrelation of several individual reservoir pressures whose productions are supported by water influx from a common aquifer; pressure depletion from withdrawal of oil from one reservoir will affect the position of the common aquifer and thus affect the pressures and gas-oil or water-oil contacts in the other reservoirs.

With a selectable range of distances between the source and the atmospheric pressure interface, the ion source allows off-axis analyses of surfaces.
The system contains a dual off-axis Atmosphere Pressure Interface (API) to reduce carry-over and contamination for maximum uptime.
