Microradiography in which an electron beam, focused into an extremely fine pencil, generates a point source of x-rays, and enlargement is achieved by placing the sample very near this source, and several centimeters from the recording material. Abbreviated PMR. Also known as shadow microscopy; x-ray projection microscopy.
