Not acquired in the herein discussed experiments are additional loads that are also closely related to advancing flight with significant edgewise inflow components, in particular, the
rotor drag and side force as well as its pitching moment.
However, if such a fault occurs right at the rotor drive power electronics, there would be an immediate shut-off of that rotor anyways, though the abrupt change of the total
rotor drag is rather small (e.g., only 1/8 for 8 rotors).
The forward wings of each
rotor drag the material in a helical path, with the reverse helix wing opposing the forward movement of material.
