A better way is to use a three-way Sanitary Tee. The best solution is using a 45-degree PVC hub x hub x hub sewer and drain wye connected to the main drain at the wall and have both sinks connect to the "wye" end.
You can choose a new sink with a deeper basin than the existing sink has, but if it hangs down too low, it won't drain properly and you'll have to lower the sanitary tee connection in the drain line inside the wall.
Then start at the drain and work up toward the sanitary tee, making sure to center the sanitary tee on the new sink location and at the right height.
The branch intersections of the company's tees, wyes and sanitary tees in the SDR 35 line have been strengthened.
Recently, Plastic Trends further improved this line by strengthening the branches and intersections of reducing Tees, Wyes and Sanitary Tees. These fittings are now fortified against stress and breakage to a degree never before available in a PVC sewer fitting.
You'll notice that sanitary tees always have a flow direction molded into them.
