saturate

i. To reduce the effectiveness of any type of defense by the tactic of bringing so many aircraft per unit of time over a defense area that the electronic and mechanical responses of the defender's equipment, such as the surface-to-air weapons, become erratic because of the multiplicity of targets.
ii. To attack an area with bombs or other missiles in a manner that leaves no place in the area unscathed.
