A type of aircraft wheel brake that uses the momentum of the aircraft to increase the friction applied by the brakes. When the pilot depresses the brakes, the brake shoe is moved against the rotating drum, which is turning at the wheel RPM. The higher the wheel RPM, the higher the friction as the shoe and the drum are wedged tightly against each other.
