sideslip

A condition that occurs because the flight has crossed controls or makes an unbalanced turn. The aircraft may be banked while tending to maintain its heading because the pilot applies the rudder in the direction opposite to the angle of the bank. When an aircraft is sideslipping, the ball in the turn and slip indicator in the airplane will be toward the inside of the turn or the lower wing.
