Although a multipass weld method was applied on the TIG welding for adequate weld depth, a single-pass weld
method was applied on the EB welding.
The increased productivity comes from either an increase in the maximum achievable travel speed or by increasing the single-pass weld
thickness which reduces the total number of passes required to complete a pipeline girth weld.
In this approach the evaluation of single-pass welds
and gas metal arc welding (GMAW) is proposed.
