slow roll

slow roll

A slow rotation of an airplane about its longitudinal axis executed by coordinated manipulation of the controls. In a normal roll, it is usually the ailerons that are used, whereas in a slow roll, all three basic controls—ailerons, the elevator, and rudders—come into operation. A slow roll is a continuous maneuver, unlike a hesitation roll. See roll.
