soft launch

A website that is implemented in stages rather than all at once. Unlike other publishing media, such as a book, CD or DVD, which requires the entire project to be completed before it is distributed, a website can easily be deployed in stages. The Web medium allows for an ever-expanding online publication that can be routinely updated.
